Walang forever?

I keep hearing this all the time, and I asked myself :

“Why am I in a generation with so many people who stopped believing in love? Broken hearted people? Why is this generation so bitter?”

Eh bakit nga ba walang forever?

Stop putting your trust on that word “Forever” kasi, you’re focusing on something that isn’t stable, because it is just a word that comes from the world, and not a word from The Word. Gets? If not, it’s okay, never mind.

People nowadays are so focused on finding the love of their life, because they don’t want to be left out with these trending hashtags #RelationshipGoals #CoupleGoals #MayForever. Or, the people who tend to say that “Walang forever” are often those na nasaktan sa pag ibig.

Okay, I get it, it hurts, but the world doesn’t stop there. It is not because you got hurt once, twice or even a hundred times that you should stop believing that May Forever. You don’t wanna know my story but I’ve been through hell, yet I still believe that there is someone out there for me.

Don’t listen to your broken heart, it is broken for a reason. It has to heal first. Listening to it is like listening to a parrot talking, it will only tell you what they’ve been told to say again and again, just like a broken heart it will only remind you of the pain.

So you may ask me, “Mayroon nga bang forever?”

Based on my opinion, there is that something that you call “Forever”. It is not because I’ve been hurt by one person or two or three, that I am going to stop believing it. We should stop generalizing things.

  • We tend to think that once a cheater always a cheater, what if they changed?
  • What if you were just not meant to be?
  • What if you deserve someone better? Like. So much better?
  • What if your forever is someone that you’ve known forever and is just in front of you but you’re too blind by your pain that you cannot see it?

Life doesn’t stop there. It doesn’t stop because nasaktan ka na and you don’t want to believe in love anymore. You shouldn’t be afraid to love, because perfect love casts out fear. 1 John 4:18

Try to give love a chance, doesn’t have to be with the person you were with, but maybe with someone else. And maybe that someone is your forever, oh diba? Pak!
